The History of our Cooperative began in 1938 when, in Fregona, the breeders of the area at the foot of the Cansiglio Forest decided to form a Cooperative under the name of “ Caseificio Cooperativo Del Cansiglio”. Subsequently, in 1978 we evolved from a “Turnaria” dairy, where each member sold the products independently, to become a Social Diary with its own organization not only for the transformation but also for the direct sell of the produced cheeses.
The present Cooperative structure and denomination “Agricansiglio – Union of Agriculture cooperatives in the Cansiglio Prealpi” is also the result of two major mergers, the 1991 one with the Social and Turnaria diary of Ogliano and Scomigo and the most recent one, dated 2001, with the Cooperative Social diary of San Martino di Colle Umberto.
Cosa facciamo
The Cooperative Agricansiglio diary has been producing cheeses for more than 70 years using only the milk from its members from Treviso, Belluno and Pordenone provinces.
About 50 farmers adhere to the Cooperative: they give fresh milk on a daily basis for the production of cheeses and desserts made from cow and goat milk.
